Sarah parked her car and read her husband’s mysterious, secretive text again.
Meet me at our attorney’s office at 5 p.m.
Troubled, she opened the office door.
“Surprise!” The chorus from her family and friends deafened her.
James kissed his wife on the cheek. “Congratulations, sweetheart, you passed the Bar.”

About this Story
When I began writing this little tale I had several endings in mind, endings that bordered on the…”dark”, shall we say. As I revised it, the story presented a different ending, so I ran with it. It made me smile.
People seem to like it very much, and yes, the ending does surprise them. Fifty-word story mission accomplished!
