I’m tired of my devices spying on me. They learned about me, intimately, during the pandemic lockdown.
Working from home.
Ordering my meals delivered.
Didn’t have a pet. Just me, muttering out loud, texting my boss, meeting with clients on video calls.
Today, at noon, I went down to my car. The driver-side door wouldn’t open. Battery’s dead.
I called the auto club and made lunch while I waited for their service employee.
I checked my emails.
A message from 7:44 AM.
Subject line? “New Car Batteries On Sale.”
Before I knew the battery was dead.
What the hell.

Great story, Jenise. Google is watching!
So accurate! This kind of stuff happens to me all the time, it's seriously freaky sometimes. Great new story! I especially loved the last line.
